I see lots of people post windows with alleged faces and
apparitions in them. The problem with this type of picture is
that they are almost universally pictures of dirty windows.
One I saw even was covered in dirty plastic sheeting.
Older glass, even when clean, is not a truly smooth
surface. It has ripples and ridges that may not be apparent
with a quick glance. But these flaws can create textures and
reflections especially when exposed to the bright light of a
flash.
Compound that with years of dust and grime and it is hard
to tell what you are going to see.
The truth of the matter is, that I cannot swear to you that
the above picture is not paranormal in nature. All that I can
do is to weigh the real-world options against the paranormal
options. When the real-world gives us a simple, easy to
understand solution I feel I must lean that direction.
