Dad's Orb

Sent to me in relation to an upcoming residential investigation in Louisville.

This is NOT the building we will be investigating. This is what was left of a mobile home that sat on the property. The story goes that the person inside inside the mobile home was awakened in time to escape the fire. The family credited their deceased grandfather, believing it was he that woke up the occupant and acted as his guardian angel that night.

After the fire was put out, this picture was taken showing the orb to the right of the frame.

You do not know how much it pains me to do this...

Even though it goes against every fiber of my being...

Even though everything I have learned thus far says it is just dust...

I believe it is a true paranormal orb.

Why? Because I told the person with the picture I would take a look at it, and run it through some filters and then give him my honest opinion. When they emailed it to me I took a quick peek, figured "great...more dust" and then pretty much forgot about it for a week or two.

Then I was cleaning up some emails and figured I had better do what I said I would do.

So basically I just enlarged the orb at first. Then I saw the face. It seemed to have a beard and a bald head. Then I ran it through a software filter (5% color boost) to bring out more detail.

Since I could clearly see a face with a beard, glasses and a bald head, whether it was matrixing or not, I contacted the owner to ask quite plainly what his grandfather looked like. He emailed me a picture...

If that is NOT what you saw when you looked at the enlargement please email me and tell me it is just my imagination. It might reaffirm my skepticism of orbs and put my belief system back on track.

His grandfather had a beard, glasses and bald head. Keep in mind that I found this out AFTER I looked at the original photo.

Yeah, it must be a coincidence. It has to be. The beard looks way longer in the orb.

UPDATE: My friends at itshaunted could not bring their selves to accept that this (or any orb) could be declared paranormal and several could not see the face that leaps out at me. So while this may not be a true paranormal orb, I - nor they - still cannot explain how I came up with my description of the deceased just by zooming in on a dust particle.

My explanation is just a wild theory. This may in fact be a dust particle illuminated by the flash. But since many of us believe that spirits can manipulate recording media and other electronics, why couldn't they just as easily send a message through a digital camera...that dad is still around and watching over them.
