The Whistle

This was captured during our May 8, 2010 investigation at the Rohs Opera House in Cynthiana, Kentucky.

Recorded in the upstairs hallway with a GE microcassette recorder and an external mic. This was very early in the investigation. The recorder had been left running while we were investigating elsewhere in the building.

We are not calling it an EVP as the recorder was unattended and the sounds may well have been able to be heard had we been there.

This is the raw version of the file. It stands on its own. We have posted it in .WAV format for the best quality. It may take a moment to buffer.

It is obviously a whistle. It is very clear and seems very close to the recorder reducing the chance that it came from outside or elsewhere in the building.

Is it paranormal? We think so, but we are open to explanations.

The whistle is a frequent event in the building. It has been reported so many times by so many people that many investigators ask it to be repeated while they are there. We are not sure if it has been captured on audio before.

UPDATE: We caught the whistle again on June 26th. This time it was recorded in the upstairs hallway three times on our Sony Digital Voice recorder during an EVP session and we heard it. We have posted the best version.
