Children Laughing

This was captured during our April 10, 2010 investigation at the Rohs Opera House in Cynthiana, Kentucky.

Recorded in the upstairs hallway with a GE microcassette recorder and an external mic. This was very early in the investigation. The recorder had been left running while we were investigating elsewhere in the building.

We are not calling it an EVP as the recorder was unattended and the sounds may well have been able to be heard had we been there.

This has an interesting back story.

When I started to review the tape and heard that dreadful background noise, I though "great...30 minutes of this crap." The noise is anomalous in itself. No one else has reported similar interference. I even named the file "weird noise on recorder".

However, upon review we believe the noise to be a by product of a manifestation very close to the recorder. As you can hear in the recording, the noise stops after the children are heard. It did not happen again.

There have been many reports over the years of visitors and workers hearing children laughing in various areas of the theater. This is the first known recording of them.
