EVP Video Template: Help Posting an EVP to
Video Sites
Some social networking sites such as Facebook,
do not allow direct posting of audio files. Even my current
"partner in crime" itsHaunted
does not have an easy way to post and then display audio in a useful
manner. Both Facebook and itsHaunted do however allow
for direct posting and embedding of video files.
But not everyone has taken the time to figure out how to
make an audio file into a video file so that it can be
uploaded to their social network or even posted on YouTube.
It's actually very easy...and I just made it easier.
All you need is your audio file, the video template clip on this
page, and some video software such as the free Windows
Movie Maker which comes preinstalled on most PCs.
First...you will need to download the following template
video. If you "right click" and then "save
target as" you can save the file to your own computer.

I won't take time in this tutorial to get into many specifics
about creating a video on Windows Movie Maker or any other
software for that matter. Windows Movie Maker is free and it
is what I use.
I am just going to cover the basics and hope you can figure
out the details. I will take it for granted that you know you
need to open the software for example...
First you will need to import both the video clip and your
EVP into your collections
Now, drag the video clip from your collections to the time
line bar at the bottom.
Now, drag the audio clip from your collections to the
audio/music area on the time line bar. Be sure to place it at
the far left.
Next, because the video is about a minute and thirty seconds
long and most EVPs are only a few seconds long, you will need
to trim the video. Just "grab" the end of the video
and drag the trim bar that appears over to about the end of
the audio clip.
At this point you are done with the part I can help you with.
Now you can add titles and credits and such at the beginning
and end of the clip. To learn how to do that you will need to
read the instructions. But here's a hint...
Just remember that if you add a title at the beginning you
will want to "slide" your audio file to the right on
the timeline so that the sound is running while the video is
playing.
But, in a nutshell, that is pretty much all there is to it.
Now save your movie file to your computer.
I usually select the file to the 512 Kbps Video for broadband
resolution. For EVPs you are safe to use an even smaller file
format.
You now have a nifty EVP video suitable for either uploading
to your favorite social network or to YouTube which will allow
you to embed it about anywhere.
I also offer a
free conversion service if you don't want to mess with it
yourself.
