Until The Video Upload Is Working: Embedding Video

Until we can complete the server migration and software upgrades at itshaunted.com we are temporarily unable to use the video module to upload or embed video files.

I personally could have headed this problem off, if I had read the installation files on the video module and the fine print on the server specs. But since I didn't, and it will be a day or two before I can get it fixed, I thought I would share with you how you can still post video stored on other sites to itshaunted.

Let's assume you have a video file already stored on YouTube or Facebook.

Start typing up your forum post like normal. The only thing you will do different is that you will type an extra word wherever you want the video to be displayed. In my example I have used the word "TEST".

Now copy (control +C) the embed code posted wherever you have the video stored to your clipboard. Then click the source button above your entry.

Select (double click) the word that you used to mark your target.

Paste (control + P) the code you copied in place of the target word.

Then click your source button again and return to your original posting screen. You can still add text wherever you want.

Post your thread and you are done. The video will embed on the web page just like the old days. It won't show up in the video menu, but will be able to be seen by all that read your post.
